Acne

Acne or 'acne vulgaris', as it is medically termed, is a collection of pimples and pustules which erupt on the face and in some cases, over the back also. It is caused by the sebaceous glands, which are attached to each side of the hair follicle, overproducing and becoming blocked. Stress, poor diet, allergic reaction and hormonal imbalances occurring mostly during adolescence may all create the condition under which acne will erupt. This disease causes a great deal of embarrassment at an age when people tend to be sensitive about their personal appearance.
Symptoms
  • Presence of open or closed comedones.
  • Presence of pus-filled pustules, inflamed papules or nodules. The cyst leaves scars on erupting.
  • The areas chiefly affected are the forehead, cheeks, chin, temples, chest and back.

Rub nutmeg (Jaiphal or Jaavitri) with raw cow milk on a stone slab to make a paste. Wash your face thoroughly with water and apply this paste on your face at bedtime. Wash off in the morning. This paste can also be applied on other affected areas at bed time and washed off in the morning. This remedy has magical effects on acne and blemishes.
