Sinusitis
Overview
An unpleasantly painful ailment, sinusitis is the result of the mucous membrane linings of the sinus cavities, around the eyes and leading to the nose, becoming inflamed. It often follows a common cold, influenza and other general infections. Infecting germs sometimes find their way into these sinuses of the nasal passage, leading to sinus trouble.
Symptoms
Excessive or constant sneezing.
Running nose.
Headache and pressure around the head, eyes and face.
Blockage of one or both the nostrils.
Low fever.
Loss of appetite.
Difficulty in breathing.
Featured Remedy
Sinusitis Put 5 gms of Nettle tops (Bichchu booti), 10 gms of Black berry ( Jamun) leaves and
1/2 gms Pepper mint in one liter of water and allow it to boil for 5 minutes. Make sure that the vessel used for boiling the mixture is covered properly. Strain and take this decoction once in the morning and once at night before going to bed.

Nettle tops (Bichchu booti) 5 gram (Can be obtained from an ayurvedic shop)
Black berry (Jamun) leaves 10 gram
Pepper mint 1/2 gram
Precautions
Sinusitis
If you are susceptible to sinus disorders, you should avoid smoke and other air pollutants.
Don't swim in the pool treated with chlorine, as it irritates the lining of the nose and sinuses.
Avoid curd, banana and cold-drinks.
Keep away from mosquito repellents. Use mosquito net, instead.
Steam inhalation is very helpful. You can use steam inhalation with or without astringents such as eucalyptus or menthol.
Other Remedies
Sinusitis
Use of pungent foods like garlic and onion is very beneficial in sinus problem. Add these herbs in your regular meals.
Make a decoction of fenugreek seeds (Methi) by boiling one teaspoon of it with 250 ml of water till it reduces to half. Take thrice a day.
Take 50 gms of roasted and ground cumin seeds (Jeera) with 100 ml of honey, thrice a day.
