Overview
Appendicitis is a condition when the appendix gets swollen or inflamed, mainly because of primary obstruction of the appendix lumen. The risk of having appendicitis is higher for the age group of 10 - 30 years. It's main symptom is a shooting, almost unbearable pain on the lower right side of the stomach. The only way to cure appendicitis, if it is in the late stages, is to remove the appendix with surgery. However, if detected on time, it can be cured naturally, using home remedies.

Appendicitis Regular use of tea made from fenugreek seeds has proved helpful in preventing appendicitis. This tea is prepared by putting one tablespoon of the seeds in a liter of cold water and allowing it to simmer for half an hour over a low flame. Strain it. Allow to cool a little before drinking.

Patients of appendicitis should adopt all measures to eradicate constipation. Once the waste matter in the caecum has moved into the colon and is then eliminated, the irritation and inflammation in the appendix will subside and surgical removal of the appendix may not be necessary.
At the first symptoms of severe pain, vomiting, and fever, the patient should resort to fasting and nothing except water should enter the system.

Green gram is a proven remedy in relieving pain and treating infections in cases of acute appendicitis. A handful of green gram can be soaked overnight in water. This water can be taken as the treatment - 1 tablespoon, three times a day.
One can mix 100 ml of beet root juice and 100 ml of cucumber juice with 300 ml of carrot juice and drink it twice daily.
Buttermilk is an effective cure for chronic appendicitis. It is the left-over residue from curd after fat is removed by continuous stirring. Add a pinch of salt into the buttermilk before drinking it 3 or 4 times a day.
Eating raw or powdered ginger-garlic combination is effective in not only reducing pain but also reducing a swollen appendix also.
You can take one liter of honey and lemon juice mixed in equal quantity.
