Bronchitis
Overview
Bronchitis refers to the inflammation of the mucous membrane, lining the bronchial tubes within the lungs. Bronchitis is the next step that cough and cold may well descend to, if they have not been treated in the first place. It is caused due to viral infection when the bronchi swell and mucus accumulates, forcing one to cough forcefully. Bronchitis may be acute or chronic.

Discharge of phlegm or sputum while coughing
Shortness of breath
Fatigue
Rise in body temperature
Hoarseness of voice

Featured Remedy
Bronchitis Heat honey on a medium flame to boiling point. Add 50 gms dried hyssop, 1 tsp crushed aniseed (Saunf), 1 piece crushed liquorices (Mulethi) root and 1 piece crushed root ginger to the honey. Simmer for 30 minutes. Strain and pour into a dry jar. Take one tea spoon of this syrup twice daily. Note: Avoid intake of anything 30 minutes before and after taking this syrup.

500 gms honey
1 tsp crushed aniseed (Saunf)
1 piece crushed liquorice (Mulethi) root
1 piece crushed root ginger
Precautions
Conjunctivitis
In case of chronic bronchitis, patient should take all fruit diet in the beginning of the treatment.
A hot Epsom salt bath every night is also beneficial.
Fresh air and outdoor exercise are also essential for the treatment of bronchitis.
Do not smoke.
Avoid curd and sour food.
Banana and guava should not be taken as they facilitate mucus formation.
Keep yourself away from exposure to cold winds and rain.
Other Remedies
Bronchitis
Mix sesame seeds (Til), linseed (Alsi), common salt and honey and take this mixture once at night.
Drink one teaspoon of onion juice every morning.
Add 50 gms of fresh leaves of spinach to 250 ml of water. Let this boil. Now add one teaspoon honey to it. Take the infusion two times a day.
