Whole pulse |

Ginger |

Method: |
- Pick, clean and wash the whole pulses.
- Soak the dal preferable overnight.
- Add dal, ginger, salt and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker with water. Pressure cook.
- Check the consistency and adjust if necessary by adding boiling water and let it simmer for another 10 minutes on low heat. Stir frequently.
- Heat fat, fry chopped onion till golden brown, add chopped tomato and fry a little. Add cumin seeds, garam masala and red chilli powder. Pour this baghar over the dal and serve hot in bowl.
