Ingredients:

Refined flour (Maida)   30 g
Butter   20 g
Castor Sugar   30 g
Eggs   1/2
Baking Powder   1/4 tsp
Vanilla essence   1 drop
Cooking apple   25 g
Lemon juice   1/4 lemon
Cinnamon powder   a pinch
Nutmeg powder   a pinch
Clove powder   a pinch
 

Method:

  • Prepare the cake tin by greasing and dusting with flour or by lining with paper.
  • Sift the flour and baking powder together two to three times.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together in bowl till light and fluffy using a wooden spoon.
  • Separate the egg yolk and whites.
  • Add egg yolk to the above mixture and beat will.
  • Beat the egg white to a stiff peak stage.
  • Now add the flour and egg white alternately into the above mixture using cut and fold method. Add vanilla essence.
  • Slice apple thinly. Sprinkle lemon juice, cinnamon powder nutmeg powder and clove powder.
  • Add the prepared apples into cake batter.
  • Pour the mixture into a prepared tin and bake at 350 degree F (moderate oven) for 20-25 min (or till a tooth pick or knife inserted comes out clean).
  • Remove the cake from tin. Cool on a wire rack before cutting.
  • Serve.
