Recipe Name: Spiced Stir-Fried Beets

Ingredients:

Medium sized beets   4
Garlic   3 pods
Oil   3 tsp
White vinegar   2 tbsp
Sugar   2 tsp
White pepper powder   1 tsp
Cloves powder   1/2 tsp
Salt to taste  
For garnishing:   1 tbsp chopped celery leaves
 

Method:

  • Boil and peel the beet. Cut into long pieces. Chop the garlic.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the garlic. Fry over a medium flame for 1 minute.
  • Mix in the beets. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix the vinegar, brown sugar and the cloves powder.
  • Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes. Garnish with celery leaves and serve hot or cold.
